Hello and happy Sunday,
Welcome to another. YOU GOT THIS! Newsletter.
I hope you are having a cozy start to this Sunday and maybe even a cup of coffee or tea in front of you.
Crazy, isn't it: Christmas is just two months away ?? – are you ready?
Yes, Christmas is fast approaching – just two months to go! There is something magical and warm about the festive season that enchants us every year.
As a child, the Advent calendar was always a highlight for me. Opening a new door every day was almost more exciting than the celebration itself! Even today, it still brings us a little piece of joy every day, whether we have children or not.
This year, I would like to take up this beautiful tradition again – but this time for you! ??
I am collecting your questions for an advent calendar for leaders who want to develop their skills in their daily lives. Your questions will help me shape the content. My goal is to provide you with the right inspiration, practical tools, and reflections to strengthen you on your journey as a leader every day during advent. Please feel free to write me your question in response to this email so that I can tailor the adventscalendar to your needs!
In today’s edition of my newsletter, I′ll write about these three topics:
?? My latest learning: Career planning? Don't panic!
?? Career Inspiration: There are still 65 days left in the year.
?? Female Leadership: Connection Matters More Than You Think
The end of the year is just around the corner, and if there’s ever been a perfect time to refocus and take action, it’s now. Whether you’re aiming for a career change, looking to improve your leadership skills, or just want to feel more fulfilled in your role, now is the time to act.
I am always happy to receive feedback, suggestions for improvement, and ideas for new newsletters. What would you like to read about here?
Stay courageous!
Best Regards, Katharina
?? My latest learning: Career planning? Don't panic!
I'll start with a confession that I haven't made before:
In the last few weeks, I've often received feedback along the lines of: “How do you actually manage everything: family, podcast, coaching, newsletter, social media and the job at adidas...?” Or: “It's incredible how you manage to juggle it all!” “The ease with which you handle it all makes you a great role model.” What it's really like
Honestly!? It may look easy on the outside, but behind the scenes!? Here we are: After work and as soon as we have eaten supper as a family, I get to work on coaching and everything related to coaching, I rush out to meet deadlines (because commitment is incredibly important to me), LinkedIn posts and newsletters are written
What else is different I switched to a system where fixed coaching sessions cannot be canceled an hour in advance, because I'm just not that flexible anymore. My email inbox and the inboxes for direct messages on the social media channels sometimes overflow, even though I would like to answer directly.
I often struggle with a guilty conscience towards my friends because I don't have as much time for them as I would like. And the household is run on minimum effort ;) It's the result that counts
But in the end, I somehow manage to combine life and work. Why? Because I really really want to.
What does that have to do with your career? Many people tell me that they are not making progress with their networking and job searches and would like more visibility on LinkedIn. They would like to do more. That everyone else is better than they are. Etc. To give you a bit of serenity, here are 4 hints why you shouldn't stress.
4 tips for more ease
1. You're not the only one You're not alone in this struggle! Almost everyone with ambitions feels the way you do. In my opinion, My visibility and messaging on LinkedIn is also constantly suffering. Take it easy. Do your best, but don't drive yourself crazy.
2. Schedule fixed times Try to set time slots in which you work on your career. Whether you create content during this time or not. Whether you work on your positioning with a coach (this should always be the first step!) or not. Whether you expand your network or not. Or similar... Set aside two or three slots a week. 20 minutes is enough if you are focused. The main thing is not to let it slide completely.
3. Focus Don't dance at every wedding! Limit yourself to two or three topics. We are hardly as critical with hardly any human being as with ourselves! Therefore, “just do it” once you have clearly defined your goal - alone or with the help of a coach - then don't overthink everything!
4. don't compare yourself with others Yep, easy for us to say! ... and every now and then, comparing ourselves to others can motivate us. But more often than not, it inhibits us. And let's be honest. No matter what your level is, there are always people who are further ahead than you (at least if you like to compare your weaknesses with their strengths…). Don't let that stop you from pursuing your career plan. Because NO ONE is like you.
?? Career Inspiration: There are still 65 days left in the year. ??
It's crazy how time flies, isn't it?
But, ... there's enough time (if you buckle down ???♀?) to finally update your CV and then move into a job you love with the salary you really want.
This month, I will be working with two more women to help them transition into their dream jobs, with the conditions and terms that are important to them individually.

?? Female Leadership: Connection Matters More Than You Think
Imagine this: You arrive 15 minutes early from a meeting—how do you spend that time? Catching up on emails? Checking off small to-dos? Or could you use those few minutes to check in with a team member, even just to ask how they’re doing?
For leaders, connection isn't just a “nice-to-have.” It's fundamental to team engagement, productivity, and resilience. I learned this in a profound way when my father passed away; my team stepped up without a single request. They took care of everything—from my daily tasks to project responsibilities—showing me that authentic connection enables support in ways you can't plan or mandate. They allowed me to grieve, without needing to push past my limits, and that level of trust can only come from a foundation of real connection.
Building this kind of bond doesn’t happen overnight, and yes, it takes time. I strive to check in with each member of my team, individually. These aren’t always long conversations, but they’re real. I want to know where they are in their personal lives, what they’re managing outside of work. Sometimes I get busy and forget, but I always circle back because I know it makes a difference.
My experience also echoes what Gallup has consistently found: No matter how great the benefits, the pay, or even the opportunities for advancement, if team members don’t feel a true sense of belonging and connection to their work and leadership, productivity and engagement suffer. Research indicates that connected employees show up more, quit less, and perform better.
For leaders struggling to make time for these connections, my advice is simple: Make it a priority. Set aside time, even just a few minutes each day. It energizes not just your team but also you as a leader.
In the spirit of fostering connection, try it this Monday. Spend five minutes really listening to someone on your team. You might be surprised at how much it brings back to you, too.
Let’s talk about how I can help you get there! ????Here is a link to book a discovery session with me.
??Change starts with you
Nothing will change unless you change something! It's up to you!
The alternative: Keep doing what you're doing...
I wish you a great week; enjoy life, and remember to SHOW UP!
If you say what you want, you increase the chance of being heard! ??
Have a great day, and remember, it is the one who gives up and does not reach success.
And now I wish you all the best and talk soon!
