Over the past few years, the exponential growth in computing power has led to remarkable technological advancements in various fields, including AI, Robotics for Industrial Machines, Quantum Computing, and Data-driven Technology.
In the upcoming months, brace yourself to encounter new terminologies in daily conversations. You will soon become familiar with technologies such as Cobots, Mobile Manipulators, Digital Twins, and Humanoid Robots. Stay tuned to learn more about these exciting advancements.
Meanwhile, one sector that has particularly felt the impact of these advancements is healthcare, where there has been a growing need for innovative solutions to address ubiquitous challenges such as high costs and cumbersome paperwork caused by government regulations and red tape.
Recognizing the need for change, the White House issued an Executive Order in October 2023 that focused on promoting the safe, secure, and trustworthy development and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This order also highlighted the healthcare industry's pressing concerns and challenges and aimed to leverage AI's power and capabilities to revolutionize how we approach healthcare.
The healthcare industry is undergoing a significant transformation thanks to the advancement of Artificial Intelligence. Despite the government's concerns, AI is positively revolutionizing the healthcare sector. From patient care to drug discoveries, AI enhances the healthcare system by ensuring patients receive the correct treatment at the right time.
According to a recent study, it is estimated that we could save an incredible $360 billion annually by streamlining healthcare costs. This can be achieved by reducing the time physicians spend on paperwork by 15.5 hours, allowing them to attend to more patients and provide quality care. The healthcare system can be streamlined by eliminating bureaucracy and minimizing the time wasted on paperwork, leading to better healthcare outcomes for everyone.
On March 10th, 2024, an article by Peter Aitken from Fox News reported that five companies had expressed their intention to provide the United States Air Force with AI-driven drones. These drones are designed to remove the human element from high-risk tasks and provide additional intelligence. The AI technology is capable of performing calculations at a much faster rate than a human could. At the same time, the drones themselves can fly at speeds slightly below the speed of sound and cover a range of 2000 nautical miles.
If these companies can keep production costs reasonable, it would be a significant cost-saving measure for the US taxpayer. Additionally, if managed correctly, drones could provide drastically increased intelligence to our military. This development marks an important milestone in advancing drone technology and its integration into military operations.

According to the International Federation of Robotics, IFR press release dated March 13, 2024, it is acknowledged that the logistics industry accounts for 10 percent of the World’s GDP. The trend here is that companies are making huge investments in robotics and automation, from service robots to the transportation of goods. We all know of the severe labor shortage challenges, so AI-enabled robotics are helping tackle these challenges. These robotics can pick and pack products; the AI software can move products around the warehouse and even stock shelves.
Transportation-wise, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), which is a branch of the U.S. Department of Transportation Department, regulates that a truck driver can only operate for 14 hours under normal conditions. With the onset of driverless trucks such as the Tesla, the Semi can drive for a range of 500 miles carrying a fully loaded 53ft trailer. At 60 miles an hour, that’s about an eight-hour drive.
Logistically, if a company were to set up a decentralized network, the trucks could make it to a hub, and another Semi would take over to continue the journey while the original Semi charges by perhaps taking a different load the next day back to its original destination. By utilizing a combination of humans and service robotics, the direction of the trucking industry can take on old challenges to service customers with advanced automation to fill the gap between skilled drivers and logistic workers and offer faster delivery, increased safety, and higher levels of efficiency.
It has been reported on the news very recently that OnStar, subscription-based communications services, has allegedly been collecting data on customers’ driving habits and reporting that information back to insurance companies and other companies. Data is being collected from every aspect of our lives today, and even private information we do not wish to be collected. This brings up an urgent need to discuss Data Governance to ensure that all collected data meets governmental regulations. We believe strict business regulations should be enacted and enforced on a higher level. The new trends on our radar today include hyper-personalization of data, which means data utilizes Artificial Intelligence and real-time data to offer products and personalize service offerings. It creates a unique shopping experience because you are only presented before your products and services that appeal to your match.? This leads to advanced analytics of data mining that we are moving beyond traditional business intelligence (BI) with newer techniques that include Data/Text mining, machine learning, pattern forecasting, visualization, and the implementation of multivariant statistics (analyzing multiple variables) to process events.
Cobots, also known as collaborative robots, are a new generation of robots that work alongside humans in a shared workspace. These robots are equipped with advanced sensors, vision technologies, and specialized grippers, which enable them to perform a wide range of tasks in industries such as welding, automobile manufacturing, and tree-cutting services. By collaborating with humans, Cobots can operate more efficiently and effectively, making them a valuable addition to many workplaces.
Mobile Manipulators, or MoMas, are robotic platforms widely used in the automotive, logistics, and aerospace industries to perform complex tasks requiring high precision and agility. These machines are equipped with advanced cameras, sensors, and dexterity arms that allow them to perform a wide range of functions, from lifting and moving heavy objects to delicate tasks that require exceptional precision.
One of the most notable examples of MoMas in action is the International Space Station, where astronauts use these machines to perform maintenance tasks and repairs that would be impossible to do by hand. In the automotive industry, MoMas are used to assemble complex vehicle parts and perform quality checks, while in logistics, they are used to move and transport goods efficiently. Overall, MoMas are an essential tool in many industries, enabling workers to perform tasks that would otherwise be impossible or unsafe.
The world is changing rapidly, and now is the time for businesses to review and stay updated on how AI, robotics, and Data-Driven technology can impact their businesses and industries.
