Unleashing the Power
Adobe Photoshop Transformed with Firefly Integration
Adobe has recently introduced Firefly as an integrated feature in its Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop and Premiere. I couldn't resist giving it a try, and let me tell you, I am absolutely amazed by the incredible usefulness and intuitive nature of the AI functions added to Photoshop. This is a true gamechanger!
Upon launching Photoshop, I briefly glanced at the tutorial that appeared, explaining the usage of the AI tools. Surprisingly, everything seemed readily available and understandable right from the start. A convenient toolbar accompanies Firefly, which can be freely moved around the screen and automatically appears whenever assistance is needed.
In my excitement to explore Firefly, I generated an illustration of a hawk in Midjourney using my latest ChatGPT-to-Midjourney prompt generator. Without specifying any particular parameters, I was eager to dive into testing its capabilities.
I started by using the Rectangular Marquee tool and I just selected the empty left side of the image. Once it was highlighted the AI showed me that it could help me out down on the new toolbar. I hit the generate button, not electing to write any info in the field that popped up. A progress bar started to fill up, indicating that it was calculating and performing the task. I noticed no load on my PC, so I guess it is on a server online somewhere, but not sure. ?This took about 10 seconds for me, but this might also vary depending on the complexity of the image and amount of area the AI must generate.
I eagerly examined the generated content, searching for any imperfections or inconsistencies, but to my astonishment, there were none. The AI-generated additions blended so seamlessly with the original image that I couldn't believe my eyes. Encouraged by this success, I proceeded to tackle the other side of the composition.

Feeling a bit skeptical, I embarked on a further test, wondering if Firefly would be capable of generating a convincing depiction of a fish leaping out of the water in this particular image.
As I was presented with three options of fish jumping out of the water to choose from, courtesy of Firefly. Although the lighting was not quite accurate, and the fish appeared somewhat pasted onto the image rather than seamlessly integrated, it still left an impressive impact. Fixing lighting and technical disparities between different images is an area where Photoshop truly excels.
After making a few adjustments and experimenting with various clicks, I successfully added the fish to the composition. Although other changes were occurring within the image, I was so fixated on achieving the desired fish effect that I didn't pay much attention to them. At this point, I decided to conclude my exploration and finish writing this text.
To sum it all up, Adobe integrates AI functions into these programs masterfully. The AI tools are intuitive and accessible, with a helpful toolbar that appears when assistance is needed.
Firefly integration into Photoshop, seems even in the beta app to work seamlessly, generating content that blend so well with the original image in many cases that it is difficult to believe.
Overall, the AI addon impressed the me and reignited my interest in the Adobe suite. Adobe's inclusion of Firefly is seen as a commendable move and a job well done.
