In a world where the term "artificial intelligence" often conjures fears of job displacement, what if we could transform automation into a force for good?
Let's take a closer look at the profound impact of AI on socioeconomics, particularly its potential to validate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within businesses' bottom lines.
With a diverse background that includes a stint at Splunk, I've witnessed firsthand the transformative power of AI and machine learning in shaping industries. At Splunk, we harnessed machine learning to detect patterns within IT and cybersecurity, providing valuable data for business scaling. This innovative approach permeated across departments, contributing to Splunk's continued success as a leading solution.
Reflecting on this experience, I launched my own venture, Bray Media.
Armed with a passion for DEI and business development skills, I embarked on a journey to create a DEI tech solution that goes beyond my own perspective. However, conversations with DEI leaders revealed recurring challenges – from difficulties in retaining diverse talent to struggles in conveying DEI's impact to the C-Suite. These conversations illuminated the complexities of the DEI landscape.

As the narrative around DEI evolved, I delved deeper into the historical context, realizing that it dates back to affirmative action. This long-standing effort had undergone transformations, but the quest for quantifiable progress remained elusive. This realization motivated me to seek data-backed solutions that could tangibly validate the case for DEI.
Teaming up with Nayan Lad, my business partner, we embarked on a journey to leverage AI to capture and analyze data across diverse professionals. Our platform, TalkDEI, became a hub for purposeful data collection, eliminating inequities in contracting, bidding, and business processes. The AI-driven approach streamlined operations, capturing data that communicated directly to the bottom line.
An insight I gained through this journey was the untapped potential within supply chains. Diverse businesses often struggled to access opportunities that could propel them forward. Enter AI as an equalizer. By reimagining how DEI is approached, we have the chance to eradicate inequality and inefficiencies. Through AI-powered solutions, small local businesses can find their place alongside industry giants, fostering a level playing field.
In this age of integrated ecosystems, I envisioned a hub of diverse businesses, solutions, and technologies powered by AI – a movement that could revolutionize industries. As data flows seamlessly, powered by AI, contracting, bidding, and partnerships become more inclusive and transparent. The solution isn't just about diversity for its own sake, but about enhancing business efficiency, sustainability, and profitability.
So, the question remains: Can AI truly reshape how we approach DEI? The answer lies in our willingness to harness technology's potential for change. By embracing AI, we can foster an ecosystem where opportunities are accessible, inequalities are eradicated, and businesses thrive. It's time to shift the conversation from fearing AI to leveraging its capabilities, championing a new era of diversity, equity, and inclusion that resonates with leaders and consumers alike.
If you're curious to dive deeper into my venture's journey, I invite you to explore TalkDEI.io. As an early-stage founder, I've dedicated over four years to researching and developing a solution that doesn't merely reshape diversity, equity, and inclusion – it forges a hub that serves as a nexus for all things related to diversity in business. Through an AI-powered approach, this platform serves as a dynamic hotspot, fostering connections and contracts between diverse suppliers and corporations.
Collaboration is at the heart of our mission. I'm a firm believer that a robust network and foundation lay the groundwork for a thriving enterprise. By embracing this ethos, we're not just building a business; we're constructing a movement that unites individuals, companies, and ideas to drive lasting change. So, if you're as passionate about breaking down barriers and amplifying voices as we are, I invite you to join us on this transformative journey. Together, we can pave the way for a future where diversity, equity, and inclusion aren't just ideals but integral aspects of successful businesses.
