Unleashing Growth: How No-Code Tools Are Supercharging Startups for Success.

The impact on No-Code has been evident for the past few years and this will not be stopping anytime soon.

According to?Gartner, not only are new users continuing to flock to no-code tools, but existing users are increasing their usage: currently, nearly 60% of all custom apps are built outside the IT department. And by 2025, 70% of new applications developed by organizations will use no-code or low-code tools, up from less than 25% in 2020.

A No-Code report by Zapier shows an enormous rise in the use of no-code tools from the beginning of 2020 to the beginning of 2022. In fact, the majority of no-code users started using these tools during the pandemic—with over 4 out of 5 having their first no-code experience within the past two years.

The beginning of 2020 was a period where people had enough time to learn new skills and No-Code, not only among tech individuals, had an appeal for many others without any coding experience. Unlike many other interests that might have waned in attention as the pandemic eased, No-Code has endured.

Not only has this skill been invaluable for startups and businesses alone, many others have taken it up as an income making skill or an additional skill utilized in their day to day jobs - albeit largely outside of coding or tech companies.

According to Zapier , when people were asked why they started learning & using No-Code tools and platforms, these were their reasons

Why people started using No-Code (Report by Zapier)

Whatever the reasons, the mass adoption of No-Code tools by both industries and companies has contributed to the increased interest in the sector. The spillover also benefits, directly or indirectly, others outside these initial interest groups.

Why people continue to use No-Code tools (Report by Zapier)

The 3 primary reasons of why businesses, particularly startups continue to find relevance with No-Code tools can be summarized to efficiency and effectiveness in 3 areas:

  1. Build Cheaper (Cost Reduction) - Traditional developers are 'traditionally' expensive. Hiring a team of software engineers and full stack developers used to be costly, it still is for companies that still prefer full stack developers over building on No-Code platforms. However for many new businesses (startups), they are looking for ways to do more with small budgets.
  2. Build Easier (Easy to Use) - With No-Code tools, you will build your product (software/app) on a No-Code platform. Now let's point out a fact here: CODING IS STILL INVOLVED. But not for you. You will primarily deal with the front end product using a drag-and-drop interface provided by the No-Code platform.
  3. Build Quicker (Time) - No-Code tools reduce time spend building a product by great margins. Removing the worry around source code, its functionality and accuracy means you have less to worry about. It now takes a little less time for founders and product teams to go market quicker, get customer feedback and iterate (implement feedback/make changes) in less time as well.

The Greek philosopher, Plato, had it accurately 'Necessity is the mother of all invention'. True to form, 'When the need for something becomes essential, you are forced to find ways of getting or achieving it.'

It is always important to thoroughly consider your business case independently to accurately determine your needs and measure the feasibility of the solutions you can afford, depending on your own requirements. In most cases 'To Code' or 'Not to Code' can quickly be resolved by considering the aforementioned factors.

ChatGPT, being highly competent has some few benefits to add for your consideration:

3?? Increased Efficiency: No-Code tools streamline the development process by providing pre-built templates, drag-and-drop interfaces, and ready-made components. This allows small businesses and startups to build applications, websites, and other digital assets more efficiently, freeing up time and resources for other critical tasks.

4?? Flexibility and Customization: No-Code tools offer a high degree of flexibility and customization, allowing small businesses and startups to tailor their solutions to their specific needs. They can easily modify and iterate on their projects as they gather feedback and evolve their offerings.

5?? Empowering Non-Technical Teams: No-Code tools empower non-technical team members to contribute to the development process. Small businesses and startups can involve marketers, designers, and other non-technical staff in building and maintaining digital assets, fostering collaboration and cross-functional involvement.

8?? Automate Workflows: No-Code tools allow small businesses and startups to automate repetitive tasks and workflows, improving efficiency and productivity. They can create automated processes for tasks like data entry, customer support, and marketing, freeing up valuable time for more strategic activities.

9?? Integration with Third-Party Tools: Many No-Code platforms offer integrations with popular third-party tools and services. Small businesses and startups can leverage these integrations to enhance their operations, such as connecting their CRM system with email marketing software or integrating payment gateways for seamless transactions.

?? Enhanced Collaboration: No-Code tools provide collaborative features that enable small businesses and startups to work together effectively. They can involve team members, stakeholders, and even clients in the development process, fostering transparent communication, and real-time collaboration for better outcomes.

While there may be other factors to consider, this covers the important bulk answering the 'To Code' or 'Not To Code' question.
