Unleashing Agile into an IT Ops Team - Visualise everything

My first six months in Australia has been quite intense (ok Marcio, now tell me something new!).
Beside been pushing a couple of exciting initiatives at Elabor8, I've spent a good portion of my time helping the IT Ops Team of one of our Clients to strive the values, principles and practices of the Agile Movement.
It has been a fabulous experience and it's putting me completely out of my comfort zone. Why? Because of the language (I start to fall in love with the Aussie English), the culture (each place has their own social code and as you can imagine the devil is in the detail), and also because I've spent the last 17 years primarily on the DEV side of the things. This was my first immersive experience in an Ops Team. The best first experience I could have actually.
I've learned a lot and as a giving back, I want to share what I've learned and hopefully promote some insights for those endeavouring their transformation journeys. For that, I've structured a series of 8 articles with the principles which steered this experience:
#1 – Visualise everything
#2 – Collaborate to win
#3 – Reduce WIP & batch sizes to improve predictability and flow
#4 – Make sure we are doing the right thing and just the right thing
#5 – Collect tangible results and celebrate quick wins
#6 – Have in place different feedback loops to improve continuously
#7 – Grow a great Team
#8 – Share experiences, successful or not, to enable others to learn
Hope you enjoy the first one, which is about the power of visualising everything.
Cheers,
