as usual, ChatGPT can really help experienced individuals "get unstuck" or help us clarify what it is that we are trying to say. Like the early days (and even today, to a lesser extent) of Wikipedia, we must take everything with a grain of salt - but if I need help saying "Greg did an awesome job," and I can list out all the good things that he did, then ChatGPT can be a huge time saver in putting the words together in a way that is more impactful and less repetitious.

I think this is interesting and recently checked chatGPT for suggested questions when delivering a PIP (performance improvement plan) to ensure the delivery included empathy and support for a constructive discussion. Of course it takes human eyes to review and decipher what works and what doesn’t. I would be curious to hear thoughts from others around potential risks of using ChatGPT for these HR use cases. Obviously no PII data can be included. But agree reviews are painful and this could be helpful if you have done a great job documenting experiences leading up to the review. Self reviews included.

I may suggest a different approach. Instead of having an annual performance review, what if supervisors and managers reviewed performance on a daily basis and addressed issues when they arise, and praised great performance on the spot. We could eliminate the performance reviews altogether

Fully agree that we need more meaningful and personalized performance reviews. However, ChatGPT's prompt engineering is based on "garbage in-garbage out", meaning that your HR solution still needs to collect lots of useful data about an employee's performance, career and journey!
