A continuous Vertical Conveyor (CVC) / Lifter is a machine used to efficiently move goods between different levels in a facility using minimal space. CVCs are used to elevate or lower product, boxes, crates, bags, bottles, pallets, barrels or any other package between two levels continuously at high speed.

Many times manufacturing companies produce its product at the ground level, while the packed product is stored on the mezzanine floor or warehouse; the Continuous vertical lifter machine makes the job easy by continuously conveying the product to the other level or act as a multi level connector to the conveyor system that moves the product to the warehouse.

A continuous vertical lifter, also known as The Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor (VRC) ?or continuous vertical conveyor or lifter or lowerator, is a type of material handling equipment used in various industries to vertically transport bulk materials or products from one level to another continuously in a minimal footprint.

Sequence of Operations:

Feeding: The material to be transported (boxes, crates, bags, bottles, pallets, barrels or any other package) is loaded or unloaded in horizontal manner on the input conveyor at each level manually or through a conveyor, hopper or chute.? Pallets are mounted on a belt or chain that moves continuously in a vertical direction. ?????????

Lifting: The lifting mechanism uses a series of platforms that create a continuous loop, shaped like an "S" or a "C". These platforms move vertically, carrying the goods up or down at high speed.

Discharging: At the top of the lift/conveyor, pallets smoothly dispenses the cartoon boxes or crates or bags into the exit next conveyor.

Return: After discharging the material, the empty Pallet return to the bottom of the lift to repeat the cycle.

Mechanism:

The mechanism of a continuous vertical lifter typically involves a series of buckets or containers or Pallets attached to a continuous belt or chain. These Pallets move in a vertical direction, carrying the material from the lower to the higher level. The motor drives the chains/cables, causing the carriage to move up and down the track. As the carriage moves, the attached platforms create a continuous loop. Products are loaded onto these platforms at the lower level and travel upwards with the continuous movement.?At the upper level, products are unloaded from the platforms onto another conveyor or directly into the designated area.

1)?Drive System:

·?An electric motor is the heart of the system, providing the power for lifting.

2) Chains or Cables:

·?Strong chains or cables are used to transmit the motor's force. These can be arranged in multiple strands for increased load capacity.

3) Carriage:

·?A carriage is attached to the chains/cables. This carriage moves vertically within the frame of the conveyor.

4) Platforms:

·?Several platforms are attached to the carriage at evenly spaced intervals. These platforms form a continuous loop, often resembling an "S" or "C" shape.

5) Track System:

·?The frame of the conveyor has a vertical track system that guides the carriage movement.

6)?Automation:

·?Sensors are used to control the loading, unloading, and stopping positions of the pallet or conveyor.

·?CVCs have programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automated operation and safety features like overload protection, operator safety, etc.

1. Saves floor space compared to ramps or inclined conveyors: The same challenge of movement of products can be solved using a ramp or inclined conveyor in the facility however, that takes up more space as compared to the Continuous Vertical Conveyor machine.??
