The unknown and underrated power of UX design.

It may seem like everything has already been said about what UX is and what it influences. However, the results of our survey showed that UX is still not fully appreciated. Are you curious why? Let us explain.

UX design – Research Results

In our survey, we asked what UX influences, providing the following options:

? Pricing fairness perception

? Future product expectations

? Recommendation accuracy

? Interface memorability

Only a few people knew that UX impacts future user expectations, can justify a higher price, or makes it easier to remember how an interface works. Below, we present some less obvious aspects that UX affects.

The perception of product pricing fairness

Good UX can make higher prices seem justified (e.g., Apple’s design language). When it comes to pricing, the way a product is presented and the overall user experience significantly impact its perceived value. Even a higher price can seem reasonable if the product is presented in a way that creates a sense of quality, exclusivity, or innovation through the intuitive design of the system. If a user feels that the experience with the product, starting from the selection stage on the website, is exceptional and better than others, they will be more likely to accept a higher price. It’s important to remember that price isn’t just the cost of the product itself, but also the broader experience that potential customers have before making a purchase decision.

Future product expectations

Well-thought-out and intuitive UX sets new standards for competitors. As users become more demanding, they expect future products, platforms, and applications to offer a similar, if not better, level of quality. When one company creates an exceptional user experience (UX), other brands have to adjust their solutions to meet these standards. Excellent UX not only meets users' expectations but also shapes them, establishing new thought patterns and expectations for products within the same industry. Companies that cannot maintain this level of innovation may lose their competitive edge.

Interface memorability

A user interface that uses familiar patterns and intuitive elements becomes easier to remember. When users encounter the same or similar elements across different platforms or applications, their ability to navigate the interface improves significantly. As a result, the usability of the product increases, because users don’t need to relearn how to use the system each time. Well-known and easy-to-use patterns make the interface more intuitive, which positively affects its memorability and overall efficiency in everyday use.

UX doesn’t directly influence the algorithm

Recommendation algorithms work based on complex mathematical rules and data analysis that predict what users might want to see or purchase. However, how effective an algorithm is in providing accurate recommendations depends on the quality of the data it processes and the logic of the algorithm itself. While UX is crucial for the user experience, it doesn’t directly impact the logic behind the algorithm. It can only improve how users interact with recommendations—such as through clear and intuitive presentation of results. In short, UX doesn’t change the effectiveness of the algorithm, but it improves how users perceive and engage with the results.

Your UX decisions shape more than just usability—they influence how players perceive pricing, set expectations for future experiences, and even impact long-term brand recall. A seamless, intuitive design fosters trust and engagement, key drivers of player retention.
