Unix in Windows
During the past many years I have tried various ways of running Unix tools on my Windows PC.
Tools like Cygwin, MinGW, GNUWin32 have been useful but never felt as good as a proper Unix/Linux system.
Thanks to the Windows Terminal and the Windows Subsystem for Linux, where the version 1.0 was released on Nov, 15 2022, this is no longer a fun experiment, but something that I can use everyday at work, to be productive and get the best of both the Unix and windows worlds.

2 å¹´A really powerful environment makes the Unix tools available on Windows, especially for some tools to process NetCDF or GRIB files. And WSL and WSL2 have different IO performances, which are pretty interesting to explore. Thanks for your sharing!
