The University of Guam Endowment Foundation Receives $10,000 Check For Scholarships For Student-Athletes
On Friday night, prior to the Mamma Mia production at the UOG Calvo Field House, the UOG Endowment Foundation received a $10,000 check from World Theater Productions to sponsor scholarships for student-athletes in the Triton Athletics varsity sports programs - men's basketball, women's basketball, men's soccer and women's soccer.
To receive the check for UOG was President Dr. Thomas W. Krise of UOG (center), Katrina Perez, Interim Executive Director of the Endowment Foundation (to the left of Dr. Krise) and Doug Palmer, UOG Athletic Director (far left).
Representing World Theater Productions was Margarita Dancel, Executive Producer & Choreographer (to the right of Dr. Krise), Shelly V. Calvo, Executive Producer (2nd to right of Dr. Krise) and Paul Calvo, Vice President & General Manager, Calvos Insurance (far right).
Each UOG varsity sport will receive $2500 of scholarship funds to give to student-athletes either in 2019-20 or in 2020-21. The funds should result in 12-15 scholarships for Triton Athletics to give in the next two years.
