The University of Cape Town (UCT) Careers Service celebrates 55 years of Empowering Students for Successful Futures (1968 to 2023)
The University of Cape Town (UCT) Careers Service has been empowering students for successful futures for over 55 years (1968 to 2023). We offer innovative approaches to guide students towards their career goals in the ever-evolving landscape of career development and exploration.
?With a commitment to personalised guidance, even during challenging times like the pandemic, UCT Careers Service has proven to be invaluable in helping students navigate their career paths. Our focus on enhancing essential skills such as CV writing, and interview preparation empowers students to confidently enter the competitive job market.
We also promote entrepreneurship through platforms like the Student Entrepreneurship Week and the Entrepreneurship Intervarsity Challenge, nurturing a new generation of studentpreneurs. Recognising the importance of the digital landscape, we have expanded our digital tools, such as our CRM, mycareer and the Careers Service Website, to ensure students can conveniently access resources and opportunities.
In addition to individual consultations, we organise career expos, showcases, and insightful Career Conversations to further support student development. Whether through virtual expos during lockdowns or our dynamic Career Conversations series, we continuously adapt our offerings to meet student needs.
?Our collaborative approach with other faculties, initiatives like UCT Plus, and partnerships with other organisations further enhance the opportunities available to our students.
