Is the Universe listening?

I love reading about personal and spiritual development and business, especially from the angle of energy, energetic selling and all things metaphysical!

So, last week was no different other than I treated myself to a new book.

The book is Just F*cking Do it! By Noor Hibbert. 

I have read tonnes of books like this and possibly didn’t even need it as I’ve read SO much about personal and spiritual definitely as well as manifesting. 

But after having a quick flick through the book, I really warmed to her style and no-nonsense approach and thought I’d be sure to learn something new.

What is actually happening is that as I’m reading it, some I’ve heard before but we often need to read or hear something several times before we really understand it at a cellular level.

This book and topic is no different.

Noor referred to a book by Pam Grout called E-Squared which I had read, which was about 9 experiments to show your thoughts create your reality. 

As it’s such a long time since I read E-Squared I couldn’t even remember the experiments or whether I did them or not!

So, when Noor invited her readers to take part in an experiment like in E-Squared, I thought I’d give it a go.

Readers were to read aloud a statement to the Universe. It went like this…

‘Hi Universe, I need to know that you have my back, like really believe in you, so I need you to do me a favour. I need you to show me that you are listening. I need you to give me a gift within the next 24 hours. You choose, but let it be a surprise, and give me a nudge so that I know that it is you.’

Sounds pretty woowoo and simple. Initially, I didn’t read it aloud as I felt silly as there were people around me. The following day in my office, I thought mmmm let’s do exactly what the author says! So dutifully, I read it aloud.

I was then to expect the gift, just as you would expect your meal to arrive when you order from a menu in a restaurant.

There was nothing to lose, so off I went on my merry way.

The following day I had a call with a business buddy. At the end of the all she invited me ‘free of charge’ to join a mini workshop that she was running. I’d seen her announce it and thought it sounded fab, but thought also there was other things vying for my money!

Was this my gift from the Universe, I wondered. Ok, so it wasn’t a physical gift, but I was super pleased to receive it. However, I was still a bit unsure whether this was the gift I was to receive from the Universe, whilst it was certainly possible.

Later that day I meditated for a while (ok, actually it was more of a siesta). Whilst I was looking for a meditation on my phone I clicked on a video (not even sure what drew me to it, but I did! It was a cartoon about kindness, certainly up my street and I’d not seen it before. Towards the end of the video the character, who was standing at a crossing, has his arm linked by a very small, hunched over old lady with long white hair in plaits! This is the point that the character learns to be kind. It was also the moment that I thought “OMG, that looks like my Nana’. I noticed then that one of the comments described her as Anna. My nana was called Annie. The penny truly dropped then - this was my nudge from the Universe!

It was a really interesting experiment with the Universe. Is It really listening?
