The Universe Knows: Lies We Tell Ourselves

We all tell little white lies from time to time – fibbing to avoid hurting someone's feelings or to get out of an awkward social situation. But when lying becomes a habit, it can lead us down a dangerous path of self-deception and disconnect us from the universe.
The more we lie, the more we reinforce false narratives in our minds about who we are and how the universe works. Like wearing tinted glasses, these lies distort our perception until our instincts and intuitions lead us astray. We program ourselves with delusions that cause us to see things that aren't really there.
The consequences play out like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Believing our own lies, we make choices and take actions based on a skewed, self-serving story rather than objective reality. Again and again, the real universe slaps us in the face when our deluded expectations clash with facts.
We might start to think the universe itself is an obstacle course of endless suffering and frustration. But the truth is, we are the ones putting obstacles in our own path by refusing to see circumstances clearly. Our delusions send us wandering off the path and into pitfalls over and over.
It's a vicious cycle of lying, self-deception, disconnection from reality, and self-created suffering. How could the outcome be anything else when we've laid a distorted map that has no relationship to the actual terrain?
The way out starts with rigorous self-honesty. We have to confront the lies we've been telling ourselves and others, however uncomfortable that truth may be. Only by shedding our delusions can we remove the tinted lenses and perceive the universe as it actually is, not as we've falsely imagined.
From that grounded perspective, our instincts and intuitions can guide us accurately. We stop creating unnecessary obstacles through distorted thinking. The path becomes clear when we finally accept reality on its own terms – not ours.
