UNIVERSAL SUPPORT ACTUATOR VALVE (SUAV)

Among so many brilliant ideas by Oskar Coester, I had the opportunity to share the development a solution for the industrial automation industry.

During the automation project for the transfer and storage system at the Presidente Bernardes Refinery in Brazil, in 2004. This refinery bought 540 electromechanical actuators from Coester.

To install these actuators on these valves, it was necessary to disassemble the valve yoke and weld a flange as an interconnection / support element between the valve and the actuator.

During this process of installing the Coester actuators, we came across some valves in the transfer and storage system that could not be released for safety reasons.

I started working together with Oskar Coester in the development of a support device for the installation of electromechanical actuators, without the need for using welds.

This challenge created the first Petrobras / Coester patent based on technological development in informal partnerships. That would be registered as UNIVERSAL SUPPORT ACTUATOR VALVE (SUVA), PI-0303264-7.
