Universal research challenges

Universal research challenges

If you have a problem you can’t solve, you might have to start over and attack it with a different approach. What seem insolvable often have a solution if you change rules and your angle of attack.

This also applies to science. If researchers do not find answers to their problems, this might be because they work with the wrong set of rules. They work within an unsolvable research paradigm.

Professor Thoms Kuhn is known for his research around paradigms. A paradigm is research shared and perceived as decisive within a research community.

Kuhn believed that if the current paradigm fails to provide fundamental answers, if many anomalies are detected, we might work within a wrong paradigm. We then need a paradigm shift.

We have not found answers to natures basics like gravity, dark energy and the accelerating expansion of the universe. Do we need a paradigm shift within physics?

‘It is recognised that theories are only used because there are no better alternatives, not because they represent the final answer. One realises that it is not possible to come up with new solutions, and thus new knowledge, but that it is necessary.’ (Professor Per Arne Bjorkum)

Many times, a new paradigm seems counter-intuitive until we begin to see the forest (whole picture) from the trees (individual acts). The mere fact that we are able to identify something as chaotic and/or counter-intuitive, as opposed to logical, further reinforces the temporary (but real) binary world in which we live (truth vs non-truth). Regardless of whether we zoom-in or recede, total energy, total information, and total time are found in light (truth): to which ALL things are relative. Light itself has been and will always be the arbiter of everything and anything (truth, logic, and/or intuition). Whether micro or macro, without (absolute) light, one could never "prove" anything. Even it's opposition (darkness/falsehood) can be, has been, and will forever be illuminated, identified, and ultimately revealed by the light of total energy, information, and time (omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence).
