From Socialized Healthcare to National Socialism in One Generation

“In democracies the Welfare State is the beginning and the Police State the end. The two merge sooner or later and for obvious reasons.” - Melchior Palyi, author of Compulsory Medical Care and the Welfare State (1949).?

Just one generation after Prince Otto von Bismarck, the Iron Chancellor of the German Reich, introduced compulsory medical care to the world in 1883, his nation brought us the national socialist party, with all the fire and brimstone that came with it. Isn’t it a bit coincidental, that out of some 195 countries in the world, it would be Germany, a nation that came up with the socialized medicine concept and the welfare state, would also instigate two world wars shortly thereafter, resulting in an unprecedented body count.??

You’d think that a country that cared so much about people, that it offered unfettered access to free medical care, would not be the one exterminating millions of them. But something about the idea of this ostensible generosity, and surreptitious control, that attracts the most evil dictators and despots of all time, as they look to smother the population with their speciously magnanimous demeanor, and something-for-nothing theories.??

Stalin, the benevolent murderer of Russia, for example, also instituted limitless access to health care for his people at no charge. Mostly by paying the doctor less than the street sweeper and taking control of all property and means of manufacture. Sadly he did not put the same level of importance on the production of food, as millions of his loyal subjects ate their pets, their children, and then succumbed to starvation.?

I would like to take a few minutes to discuss the evils of socialized medicine for the nations that embrace it, the doctors who provide it, and the public that endures it. Primarily because it is the proverbial grease on the slippery slope towards oblivion.?

If you believe in freedom, and enjoy living in the United States of America, you cannot support socialized medicine in any of its forms. From outright confiscation, to pay for Medicare and Medicaid, to the voluntary support of third-party payer options like health insurance.?

Primarily because they have been compromised by thousands of mandates imposed by the government. That is to say, the bureaucrats are telling these sovereign entities what they must cover, if they're to cover anything at all.?

And the most obvious and insidious example, is “pre-existing conditions.”?

It’s one of those mandates that turns health insurance from a business into a wealth redistribution scheme. From a free-market product to an entitlement program like food-stamps, government housing, and more recently ... looting. Even the conservatives, who historically abhor socialism, were easily purchased with the free healthcare bribe that permitted their children to remain covered until their 26th Birthday.

I guess when you benefit from the looting, it's no longer a crime, but sound policy.?

When you buy insurance, the reason you do so is to cover unexpected variables like fire, accident, or theft. If I tried to get insurance after my car was stolen, in a sane world, I would be laughed out of the office, and then ceremoniously slapped.

But when the government comes in and forces this insurance company (who is simply a group of citizens) to accept me with my ‘pre-existing condition’ of not having a car anymore, and be forced to reinstate my loss, then what do we call that aberration exactly??

  1. Armed robbery by proxy?
  2. Mafia hard-nose tactics??
  3. Communism? Socialism? Inquisition??
  4. Government gone wild?

It does not matter what you call it, the fact is, it’s evil. You rip from the working hands of one group, because they have, and place it into the idle hands of another, who you deem as the have-nots.?

The soulless life-long bureaucrat is the one who robs Dr. Peter to pay Mr. Paul.

But worse than the financial cost, is the cost you will have to endure to your ability to live life on your own terms. The ability to stay healthy and vibrant for the rest of your existence. In other words, to enjoy that most priceless of all human rights, FREEDOM.

The entire four trillion dollar juggernaut, that is this current system of healthcare, is almost entirely focused on the indefinite management of life-altering disease, with little thought or resources given to preventing it. As they pump more and more wealth into illness care they've inadvertently turned our burgeoning sickness into a modern day gold rush.?

The more disease, the more money flows to it. Or perhaps, vice versa.?

So, by accepting FREE healthcare from the government, you sacrifice your FREEDOM within the freest country in the history of mankind. That is kind of like starving at an all you can eat buffet, because all you can see is that little piece of government cheese under the table, protruding out of a complicated and dangerous looking apparatus.?

As our own nation embraced the insidious idea of free medicine in 1965, with the passing of Medicare and Medicaid, we got off the road less-traveled of free-market capitalism, and stepped squarely onto that lugubrious highway to hell, known as national socialism.?

There's not much we can do to satiate the limitless appetite of the vile politician, looking to subjugate the doctor, and offer handouts to the masses in the midst of a feeding frenzy. We can however take control of our own personal wellbeing, our freedom, and the future of our children's good health by getting out of that repugnant legerdemain known as socialized medicine, and setting a new course of autonomy and independence.
