In Unity & Resolve
In the radiant light of a September morn,
Four planes set out on missions sworn,
By nineteen men with hearts of scorn,
Their souls by hate twisted and torn.
?
From Boston’s heart two vessels took flight,
Their path towards Manhattan—a harrowing sight.
Into the Towers, those beacons of might,
Engulfed in an inferno, both day and night.
?
South of the city, a third plane arose,
The Pentagon it purposefully chose.
A symbol of strength to its foes,
Now part of the tale that sorrowfully grows.
?
The fourth, bound for the capital’s heart,
Met a different, courageous start.
Brave souls clashed in a desperate art,
In Pennsylvania’s fields, they did depart.
?
9/11, a day draped in sorrow,
Cost us 2,977 tomorrow.
From ninety-three nations, our grief we borrow,
In unity and resolve, we face the morrow.
?
Al-Qaeda, led by a man named Bin Laden,
Their twisted minds, with hate so sodden,

To spread their fear, to shake our core,
On that black day, they declared their war.
?
Global politics, forever skewed,
Our sense of safety, irreparably unglued.
Yet, in the face of this terrifying feud,
A surge of patriotism and unity ensued.
?
From the ashes, from the dust,
Arose a nation, strong and just,
With resolve and heart, we did unite,
To stand for freedom, to do what’s right.
?
Financial towers crumbled, markets took flight,
Yet, the American spirit continued to ignite.
We remember the fallen, in the soft evening light,
In our hearts, their memory burns bright.
?
We stood together, unbowed, undeterred,
Our national security and vigilance spurred.
A witness to the strength of word,
In freedom’s song, our resolve is heard.
?
In honor of the fallen, we make this stand,
Never to forget, united we command.
In the face of terror, we found our might,
Forever to remember, that September’s light.
