Unity of Purpose will mobilise the greater good

Unity of Purpose will mobilise the greater good

In all groups, large or small, one of the defining characteristics of the impact that group can have is the degree of alignment that exists with their purpose. We all know that any overarching ‘statement’ or unifying mantra can feel a bit like wallpaper after a while, becoming less potent and, ultimately, invisible. There’s always the risk that it will end up as ‘an activity we did once’ rather than a living expression of the beating heart of the group’s existence.

And therein lies the key – the living expression of purpose as the beating heart of our existence – the identification that we have, beyond a rational acceptance, of the motivating force for our efforts. The deep oneness that we have with why we are striving, focusing, gathering our individual and collective energies toward something bigger than ourselves.

When we achieve that within a group, where all members of the group, organisation, nation or indeed global humanity are unified around the same essence, the same sense of what matters and why, the same sense of the reason to get out of bed in the morning, then we really start mobilising energy.

There is an exponential effect as the creative powers, the resilience to overcome obstacles, the willingness to support each other as we stumble, multiply - creating a vortex of energy upwards. On one level it can feel like a giddy energy – on another it feels like a higher quality power that is focused and ‘purposeful’ (full of purpose) and can literally move mountains. That unified sense of purpose when directed toward the greater good of our world will be magical. Why aren’t we signing up right now????
