I want to share with you this awe-inspiring journey which is a powerful testament to the incredible impact of coming together with a shared purpose. This crazy journey reveals valuable lessons that go well beyond the world of music.
A vision ignites
It all began with a dream, a vision born from an ardent love for music. Cesena, summer of 2014, a marine geologist named Fabio Zaffagnini, avid fan of the Foo Fighters, yearned to bring his favorite band to the small town of Cesena near Rimini in Italy. Fabio envisions one thousand musicians playing simultaneously 'Learn to Fly', a video to be sent to the band, the biggest tribute ever made, an undeniable invitation.
Determined to make it happen, he devised an unconventional plan. No human being can do such things alone, so he started looking for early adopters and started building the dream, one piece at a time. With the support of his friends, they raised over $40,000 through a crowdfunding campaign. Their goal was to recruit musicians and allies to join them in organizing a special open-air event.

They set off on a journey, guided by their unwavering belief in their shared purpose. They may not have known all the ins and outs of organizing a big performance, but their strong willpower overcame any doubts, driven by their collective love for music and firm belief that anything is possible.

On July 26th, 2015, the Rockin' 1000 gathered on a big field, ready with their instruments and strong determination. They played a powerful rendition of the Foo Fighters' song "Learn to Fly," a symphony of hope and passion. It was an incredible display of willpower that gives me chills every time I watch that video.

A Response beyond expectations
In a mere three days, the video was released, captivating millions of people across the globe who were left in awe and compelled to share the plea. Fabio and his crew turned from visionaries to miracle workers. When the video reached the Foo Fighters, they were moved beyond words and they responded with an empathetic "yes" to the fans from Cesena. Their journey, born from determination rather than expertise, deeply touched the band, creating a connection that went beyond just music.
On November 3rd that same year, the Foo Fighters fulfilled their promise by performing an intimate three-hour concert in Cesena. Everyone who took part in the incredible endeavor - musicians, donors, volunteers, and organizers were there. What an incredible story!
