What an exhilarating two days it has been! The EPIC - EUROPEAN PHOTONICS INDUSTRY CONSORTIUM Technology Meeting on Industrial Quantum Photonics Technology, hosted at TOPTICA's headquarters in Gr?felfing, has been great success. A Meeting of ?? Minds
The event started with a warm welcome from Wilhelm Kaenders, Founder and President of TOPTICA, and Ivan Nikitski, Photonics Technology Manager at EPIC. The sessions covered various topics, from Quantum Networks to Quantum Computing and Quantum Sensing. Industry leaders and academic experts shared their insights, sparking stimulating discussions and potential collaborations.

The knowledge exchange was rich, and the networking opportunities were invaluable.
Stephan Ritter explained in his keynote that quantum networks have an enormous application potential that is not yet even theoretically fully explored.? Quantum memories are an essential component of what is called the quantum internet, which enable quantum-communication applications beyond quantum key distribution (QKD). Those memories are also at the heart of quantum computers and therefore, from the perspective of a dedicated laser provider like TOPTICA, those applications require very similar lasers and photonics systems.
Beyond the Talks
The event wasn't just about presentations; it was a holistic experience. More than 60 Attendees had the chance to tour TOPTICA's facilities, providing a behind-the-scenes look at where the laser magic happens. The networking dinner at Schlosswirtschaft Schwaige offered a relaxed setting for further discussions and relationship-building.
