Amy was missing for months before she finally escaped her trafficker by jumping out of a moving car. When her advocate reached out, she was in desperate need of medical treatment and immediate safe housing. Working alongside her care team of doctors, advocates, and law enforcement, Safe House Project was able to help her get into an emergency safe house program and later transition her into a long-term program able to support her as she begins rebuilding her life and healing from her injuries.

The event worked to foster partnerships between hospitality industry leaders and public and private sector partners to share emerging trends and areas of innovation as we drive forward our continued efforts to support survivors and eradicate human trafficking.

Abolition Summit
Last week Safe House Project partnered with Jeff Shaw, Founder of Out of Darkness and organizer of the Annual Abolition Summit held this year in Atlanta, GA in the house of Gate City Church, to continue our efforts of collaboration between anti-trafficking organizations across the nation. The room was filled with front line workers, survivor leaders including Annie Lobert, CEO and Founder of Pink Chair, and fellow industry leaders such as Ked and Michelle Frank, Founders of Safe Places for Women, Melissa Holland, CEO of Awaken, David and Micha Gamboa, Founders of Elijah Rising and our very own Kristi Wells, Co-Founder and CEO of Safe House Project.?
Industry leaders in the field of anti-trafficking carry a weight that is hard to imagine, yet the most beautiful part of this conference was seeing these leaders holding each other up and then speaking from the experiences of struggle and victory, encouraging all who carry the call to see the eradication of sex trafficking in America, to NEVER QUIT.
Training Basketball Camp
Safe House Project continued our partnership with Crossroads Church in Virginia Beach, VA, by training 40+ coaches, leaders and volunteers on the signs of child sex trafficking in high vulnerable populations and how to report it. This event was a collaboration of community leaders making a difference in the lives of our children. Thank you 1 Died 4 All Basketball Camp, Trinity Church of Hampton Roads and Crossroads for being leaders in the faith community to do the necessary work to see the eradication of trafficking become a reality in the places you live, work and play.
