United Nations / NATO Reform

We should merge the power of the UN (United Nations) and NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) to end All Wars, Human Rights Violations & most Terrorism. This would also work to provide a global network to end Smuggling (drugs, weapons, people), and provide comprehensive Disaster Relief.

Leaders use aggression to obtain more power and/or more money. But if the very act risks the loss of either, they would not use aggression against their neighbors or on their people. By using the most powerful weapon of all -- money. The UN can change the world if we only had the courage.

I propose changing the UN Charter to automatically trigger an economic response to any act of aggression to their people or that of another nation-state (armed, covert, or cyber). ALL members of the UN... would freeze assets, boycotting trade, and applying sanctions until the leader and/or regime is replaced by that country's political system.

If required, NATO would employ, a superior military response, to defend the victims and to eliminate all of the aggressor's weapons. Which will be sold for reparations.

Through this, no terrorist group would ever obtain legitimacy. Because they would have no economic trade, even if they obtain control. The UN would also have a mechanism to allow all Dissidents and would-be rebels and/or terrorist groups a way to voice their grievances.

If everyone is a part of NATO/PeaceKeepers then there is no one defenseless to tempt aggressors. No one nation could fight the combined forces of all the UN nations or exist without trade. I still believe today, if we had extended NATO membership to Ukraine, Russia would have backed off... for the price of a signature, there would not be a civil war. (which Russia started to oddly keep Ukraine from joining NATO).

Each UN Member would require every member of the United Nations to provide money and/or in-kind services (men and material) based on 2% of their GDP (Gross Domestic Product) to serve any PeaceKeeping mission or Humanitarian Mission (like search and rescue, and Disaster?Relief) as their dues to the organization. Using the world's Navies and Air Wings to saving lives. Ultimately UN Diplomacy would be preferable to any war or genocide.
