Each week, I try to bring you guys a unique travel tip. Sometimes these are things from my own travel experience. Other times these are tips I’ve accumulated from extensive research. But, at times, I’m all out of ideas.?
This is one of those weeks. So, I took to Reddit to find out what strange and special travel tips I might glean. Here are some of my favorites but you can check out the full list here.
Be dumb and cheerful
If you get into a miscommunication, being kind and explaining that you didn’t know any better can get you farther than you think.?
Book a flight in an airline’s original language
One Redditor once saved $700 on airfare in Peru by using Spanish instead of English. (Just be sure you have a decent grasp of the language or someone to help you with booking.)
Pack an orange
If something smells bad or someone opens up a tuna sandwich next to you, the orange acts as a natural deodorizer.
Download the entire city map on Google Maps
This way, you can use the map even when you’re offline.
