Unique Marketing Strategies to Help Drive Your Business

Unique Marketing Strategies to Help Drive Your Business

As the marketing landscape constantly changes it may feel impossible to come up with any new or unique ideas, but that isn’t the case. Let’s review a few lesser-known marketing strategies that will provide your marketing with measurable results.

These ideas are a starting point, but consider what your brand or product is, what your demographic is, and adjust your marketing strategy to fit those needs. When making a marketing plan it’s important to look at the bigger picture and consider what the specific needs of your company are. What exactly are you trying to achieve with this marketing plan?

Create Content that Doesn’t Advertise Your Product Directly

This can be tricky and seem time-consuming for no reason, but that’s the furthest from the truth. Consider running a blog that loosely relates to your product or service, but make it genuinely enjoyable to read. Generally, these blogs will link to the website that sells your product, but it draws the customer into an interesting topic without feeling like a sales ploy.

Pay attention to what articles or posts you’d be most likely to click on if you didn’t think it was an ad. Many customers respond well to things like top 10 lists, fun quizzes, and short blog posts that are quick to read.

Advertise in Unlikely Places

Depending on where you’re located, there are endless opportunities to advertise that most brands or companies don’t take advantage of. If you’re in an urban area, consider a wall mural rather than a billboard, or a partnership with public transportation services, such as pay-to-ride bikes, rather than a bus.

Another option that proves very successful is sponsoring an event that draws people in, think non- for-profit fundraisers. Sponsoring an event that gives back to the community not only gives your brand a good public image, but it allows customers to interact with the brand in a pressure-free environment.

Get Creative with Social Media

Most brands are utilizing social media in their marketing plans, but there are lesser known and used ways to utilize these platforms. Think of things that engage your customers. Consider a photo contest on Instagram in which the winner receives a free trial of your product, create a fun hashtag for your product, or even put your social media @ username or handle on your business cards. The more fun it is for customers, the less they will view it as a marketing ploy.

These ideas are a starting point, but consider what your brand or product is, what your demographic is, and then change the ideas to fit those needs. When making a marketing plan it’s important to look at the bigger picture and consider what the specific needs of your company are. What exactly are you trying to achieve with this marketing plan?

The important thing to remember is that customers want to see something different and new. Think outside the box with your marketing plan, and it just might pay off.
