A Unique Approach to DEI Training
Joe Stevens
Using professional entertainers to present information on safety, sexual harassment prevention, and unconscious bias. They entertain and most importantly ENGAGE, leading to real learning.
If your goal is to transform how people approach a situation, which method do you think is the best way to achieve that?
While the first option is clearly the most impactful way of learning, the recent approach to DEI education is too often the second option. A typical training begins with how the person is expected to think and react, rather than increasing each person's awareness and walking them down a path of discovery.
Increasing Awareness with DEI Training
Increasing awareness takes a different approach. Our unique approach to DEI training begins by using real-life scenarios in which automatic biases tend to occur. We then explore why such biases appear - and why they're different from prejudices - and we help them re-evaluate their first reaction. This method is found to remove resistance from participants, as it doesn't blame them for their thinking but helps them understand it.?
DEI Training with Long Lasting Results
While all DEI training shares the same goal of a more inclusive workforce, our method encourages change in a more organic, longer-lasting way. Learn more about our approach to DEI training here.
