Uninterrupted Vacations - why they can and do happen for me.

As I finish up my 2 days of work this week, I am sitting here grateful for my recent time away to rest and relax. Russ and I were blessed to be able to take 10 uninterrupted days off and enjoy God’s wonder of the stillness clear waters of the Caribbean sea, bright shining sunshine, and the powder soft white sand.

10 days. Yes, you read that correctly. I know I just got back from a week in St Kitts in April. But listen, this is not really about me and my vacations. I want to share with you what makes all that possible.

I love my job and the folks I work with at Best Sign Group are fantastic, not just fantastic, but really, really fantastic. They are the reasons that Russ and I are able to take vacations. Truly take time to get away and rest, spending time with one another enjoying life, and letting our brains rest. We don’t work while on vacations, don’t discuss jobs, don't fear the unknown of what may be happening,don't wonder if things are getting done, don't check in because of concern,don't have phones constantly ringing or beeping texts. Because of the BEST staff, we can be the BEST us.

There are few business owners who can leave their company for extended amounts of time and know without a shadow of a doubt that their team is 100% capable and eager to handle anything that is thrown at them. Best Sign Group is in one of the busiest times in the history of our company and our team never missed a beat. They thrive under pressure, work together flawlessly, have fun, and are exceedingly equipped to handle their jobs successfully. They truly do function as a well-oiled machine and because of them and their commitment and passion, we were able to enjoy the vast beauty of the Bahamas. I did not have a single email from any team member or customers, no texts, no phone calls, not one, nothing. They handled everything.

We returned home late Tuesday night, so I gave myself an extra day on Wednesday at home before returning to work. Thursday, I spent a few hours walking around the office, giving out hugs, catching up on our everyone’s lives and stories, shared some vacation photos, and just enjoyed the space of our Best Sign Group office. Oh… and our garden out back, it grew 2’ while we were away.

We are thankful to God who has given beyond our necessity and equipped us in running this business and to the team of people that have been selectively gathered together to grow as a company family and hold up the values and anchors of Best Sign Group.

Kudos to our team for another “out of the park home run”. Russ and I thank you for from the bottom of our hearts for all you do for us and Best Sign Group.
