Unilever & CAB van der Vinne

Unilever & CAB van der Vinne

This morning we received a Request for Quote Mr. Frank Bakker from Unilever. Off course is Unilever interested in doing business with our company, as we are one of the most reliable procurement companies known to mankind.

On linkedin we found mr. Bakker’s profile (https://www.dhirubhai.net/in/frank-bakker-7a223535/) it looked a bit unprofessional. Not quit sure what an “Interim Customer Operations Manager” is but Unilever is a big concern, so you never know.

The request was made for DELEM Pneumatic valves, and in the RFQ it was specifically stated we had to google this specific type VKTW722

The hit on google brought us to the website www.industrialpumpsvalves.nl exclusively. There was no way we could find the OEM. This raised concerns.

This url is registered in Phoenix USA and the address was in Amsterdam.

With subsidiary companies in USA, South Africa and United Kingdom, the only mail address that is live Is the [email protected]

Off course I called the number on the website, +31208084072, but coincidentally it was not connecting to anything. I’ve should have send our Unilever RFQ to that email address, and most likely wait for a response. But, we’ve looked it up and it ws strange that a global manufacturer of Valves, is based in this building in at Kraijenhoffstraat 137A Amsterdam. A very busy place with 155 companies. Interested to learn how they. do their social distancing, but thats to the side.

Kraijenhoffstraat 137A

It was clear to us that the RFQ from Unilever was an official 419 scam, fraude, but clever set up.

We have called Unilever Rotterdam, and they confirmed this was a 419 fraude, and they received many calls about it.

We have not continued with this process, since we want to use our time on real business. I can predict the outcome, and that you most likely you get a nice quotation, and then you have to follow a process to register. The cost will be around the $1000,--. Once you wire the money you'll end into a very quiet period, which would last forever.

Most companies then find out they are been "robbed" and feel stupid. No action is taking in most cases, and nobody is interested to share with their network, how ignorant they have been. This is how they can continue this fraude.

I feel a bit sorry for them, they choose our company for this type of fraude, since we have been co-oping with this kind of rubbish many times. The reason for me to publish this is to warn other companies.

And remember,
