Unified Gulf Civil Aviation Authority Established

The Gulf Civil Aviation Authority has been established to bolster coordination among GCC member states in aviation, according to Abdullah Al-Rajhi, Director of the Air Transport Department at the Kuwaiti General Administration of Civil Aviation. Speaking in Dubai after leading the Kuwaiti team at the 19th Air Transport Committee meeting of the Arab Gulf States' General Secretariat, Al-Rajhi emphasized the body's role in standardizing laws, enhancing safety, security, competitiveness, fostering tourism, and addressing financial claims against foreign airlines and training matters. Turkish Team Inspects Libyan Airports for Readiness

From 11 to 14 September, a delegation from the Turkish Civil Aviation team inspected several Libyan airports, including Tripoli’s Mitiga airport, Benghazi’s Benina Airport, and Misrata airport, to evaluate their preparedness for Turkish airline flights. The inspections focused on the adherence of Libyan Civil Aviation Authority and airport security to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. IATA has unveiled the 13th edition of its IATA Reference Manual for Audit Programs (IRM). The updated manual provides common definitions of terms and meanings of acronyms related to various IATA standards manuals and audit handbooks, including IOSA, ISAGO, and ISSA.
