Unicorn jobs really do exist

Unicorn jobs really do exist

It’s my eight house move having followed the flag as a military wife for the past 20 years or so… I’ve been incredibly lucky as an Army Officer’s wife as i’ve managed to keep my career going - this is highly unusual.

Many military partners encounter multiple career obstacles through having to up sticks and move and find themselves on the job market yet again. It’s improving though as I now notice the next GEN of fierce military wives who ARE able to continue to have a career - perhaps a great legacy of home-working & Covid-19 - let's hope so...

Having my twins as a working mum whilst my husband was on tour was the most turbulent time for me at work returning from maternity leave. I learned a lot and it made me BRAVER in my career choices for the future.?

My mantra since this period was to just keep going, stay strong and positive even in the face of ambiguity.

AIM FOR THE STARS & FIND THAT UNICORN JOB!
I’ve found my Unicorn job - which is a job of dreams as I now embark on becoming the Head of Student Recruitment for EY - an aspiring & progressive purpose driven business.

This role has the WOW factor that I’ve yearned and the most inspiring leadership team.?

A global iconic brand that I had coveted since the new word ‘inclusion’ came about ahead of the pack with a big focus on the “I” in inclusion.?EY is a brand that has such global reach and impact that is electrifying the talent of tomorrow to build a better working world.?I’m now part of that!

I've been lucky to gain the support from great leaders who have inspired my onwards,

And one day she discovered that she was fierce and strong, and full of fire and that not even she could hold herself back because her passion burned brighter than her fears" - Mark Anthony.

So GOODBYE to not backing myself and hello to the impossible that I take as I’m possible.?

So wish me luck as I embark on the next state of my career and fingers and toes crossed...here's to always pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone and not being afraid of failing.
