un:hurd Raises Seven-Figure Investment Round
Music tech startup and Tileyard resident, un:hurd, has recently raised a seven-figure amount in a seed investment round.?
un:hurd initially raised £250,000 in its first funding round in 2021. The company has since launched a fully automated marketing platform for artists, management companies, and record labels. The platform has been adopted by over 25,000 artists from around the world in the last 18 months, and was among the top 5 music apps in several notable emerging markets last year.
Willard Ahdritz, founder and chairman of Kobalt Music, has joined un:hurd as a lead investor and advisor. He says, "Great tools that make an artist's life easier is exactly what's needed, and I believe un:hurd will become an essential partner to independent artists around the world."?
The seed round was spearheaded by Willard Ahdritz - the creator of Kobalt Music - and attracted participation from various investors, such as Best Nights VC, the VC arm of J?germeister, Soundcloud's VP of Music Intelligence, Kobalt Capital (a firm created to facilitate the sale of copyright and provide capital to owners) and its CEO Johan Ahlstrom, plus other undisclosed parties.
Un:hurd's approach to using artists' data to guide decision-making and execute powerful marketing and promo campaigns has impressed investors. The company is tackling the problem of the increasing difficulty for artists to cut through the noise with over 3 million songs released every single month. Un:hurd's marketing solution is powered by algorithms that highlight key opportunities for artists to build a valuable fanbase.

The investment will enable un:hurd to continue building out its suite of tools and services to provide artists and labels with new and innovative data-led ways to promote and market their music.
