Unhelpful Myths: You Cannot Teach Old Dogs New Tricks

An unhelpful myth is you cannot teach old dogs new tricks.

It is right through the Cult of Youth in tech.

It is right through all the literature on industry disruption, failed business transformations.

And in my work with accomplished leaders, I continually find it to be not true.

Accomplished leaders are in a wonderful place to expand and learn new tricks and continue to contribute.


In the coming week, what I suggest is to look at your strengths and see times when you may be overusing them. It just starts to open up a perspective.

And what I suggest then is reflect on contribution.?

The two of these topics seem to unlock some breakthrough moments for us.
