Ungoing delays in The Rotterdam & Antwerp ports

Neele-Vat would like to provide an update regarding the ongoing delays and rotation changes that have been affecting the ocean freight shipments from Rotterdam and all other trade lanes from Western Europe. Neele-Vat understands the significant impact this has on your supply chain and we want to clarify the main cause of these disruptions, as well as the measures we take to mitigate them.

Primary Cause: Red Sea Routing Issues

The primary reason for the ongoing delays and ship rotations is the current situation in the Red Sea, which has forced many shipping lines to re-route their vessels around the Cape of Good Hope instead of sailing through the Suez Canal.

This deviation has a significant impact on the transit times between Europe and key destinations in Asia and beyond.

Effects on Transit Times and Vessel Schedules

As a result of these extended transit times, we are experiencing a significant amount of delays, roll-overs, and vessel rotations.

Additionally, many carriers are adjusting their capacity on key trade lanes to compensate for the longer transit routes, constantly resulting into reduced availability on certain trade lanes.

This dynamic situation has resulted in a significant uncertainty in vessel schedules with many routes being adjusted constantly.

No Alternative Solutions Available

Unfortunately, there are no alternatives such as diverting shipments to other ports like Antwerp or any other European ports.

The disruptions are affecting the entire trade, and shifting ports does not eliminate the main issue as vessels are still impacted by the same capacity constraints and extended transit times.

?Our Efforts to Minimize Impact

We are closely monitoring the situation and also continuously working with our partners to find the most reliable service available.

Our team will keep you informed of any developments and are trying to minimize the impact as much as possible.
