UNFOLDING THE PLANS FOR A BETTER NIGERIA.

Logically, it is very difficult to be optimistic about the future of Nigeria. The economy of our nation is in tatters, our country‘s infrastructure is in a state of abject ruin, the standard of living has plummeted and the middle class has seemingly gasped it’s last breath after progressive assassination. The country’s brand mirrors corruption in international fraud. The Nigerian passport reeks of criminal signature’ as anyone who has advertised it at international airports can attest to. The Nigeria intelligentsia has fled the country’s shores, unwittingly improving the economy of foreign lands while lamenting the state of the mother land in periodic doses- evident yet of non-zero emotional attachment.
The civilian power pipeline is infested with mediocrity, as looters of yore, salivating to remount the graft little pulpit to scrape off what little paint remains on the royal walls, armed with nasal capacity strategically reserved for opportunities hence. Any sense of self belonging has been eroded by decades of incompetent and venal leadership. An ethnic division has resurfaced with manic vengeance and morale is low.
Yet underneath this thick garb of despair lies a giant frame of hope for Nigeria. In the interest of conserving space and time my sanguinity is based on several fundamental assumptions. First, the piston of the policy must be optimized and lubricated for development, free of centralized bottle necks: Nigeria must be liberated from the yoke of bureaucratic malaise. Without the presence of a stable, robust and unintrusive political foundation and arrangement, the crafting of any visionary development plan or strategic objective would be an exercise in futility.
Furthermore, a policy is as effective as its implementation; policy initiative must be irrigated with a natural environment and culture that permits and catalyzes their execution. Those institution than form the under pinning of modern civilization must be revived and sequested to prelude interference and manipulations. Also some modicum of law needs to be reapplied to the to the social fabrics of the nation.
Nigeria problem are a plethora, deep and extremely complicated. I cannot and do not have solutions to all of them. I have only documented only one of several possible perspectives on curative recommendations with a particular reference to long term economic, educational and technological policy. However there are great potentials in Nigeria. Her wealth of resources could make it fabulously rich. But Nigeria must solve her own problems. The rest of the world has largely given up on Nigeria and so it is to our own self-help that We Nigerians must look.
I am completely intransigent that there is hope; I have sensed a growing awareness among our intellectuals that these problems are our problem and must be solved by ourselves. Some hesitant steps should be made on diversification of the economy instead of largely depending on oil.
For ECONOMIC GROWTH to be sustainable, and be made to accelerate, we must put behind us our dependency on living in corruption and short term gain. We must look to the future, not lament or wail about the past. We must be actively engaged in governance and in constructive criticism of government. Also we must be mentally developed for Nigeria to develop, hence the need for technological advancement: by restructuring the educational system to output graduate after three years of studies "not five years" with the capacity to solve technological problems and apply technology to her resources and environment so as to solve problems and make life easier.
We must take our destiny into our own hands. I shall be very prominent in the transformation and revolutionization of this great country Nigeria. I shall be celebrating when this happens.I love my country Nigeria, We deserve a far better life than what we have now. We deserve the wealth that would be ours if we just make hard investment in love, transparency, cooperation and recognition of the need for self-sufficiency. It won’t be easy, but it can and eventually it will be done. I hope to be an instrument in the hands God to enhance this positive change that we all need and I believe you too can.

6 年It's ironic that a country with some much material and human resources is in such a state of comatose.
