The Unfinished Books
A few years ago, I started writing a book about an experience that I had while living and working as a photographer in Arizona. The project was interrupted because of 2 legal cases regarding #THESTOLENIMAGE that have now stretched and overlapped for 18 years. However, my work, studies, and other activities that divided my attention and left me in dire straits interfered as I was forced to travel back n forth to Phoenix, Arizona from California and Indiana over 45 times since permanently moving out of Arizona in 2011 by a court system that only showed concern for the defendants who had defrauded my business and caused me to spend thousands and endure the rigors of injustice. As quiet as it has been kept, my career as a photographer and writer has been an interesting one and overshadowed by some lingering socio-political circumstances.
Nonetheless, I never knew until I picked up a camera how powerful the lens could be. A photograph depicts images of anything that an eye can see. It can tell a story, reveal a truth, discover a secret and even unfold a mystery. A photograph can prove that we ate, breathed and slept. It can land you in the slammer, break up a marriage, and never allow you to forget who you really are. I could go on and on about the many ways that a photograph can illuminate the dark skies, and put the brightest smile on your face or make you sigh. Snap, snap and you could of been on Candid Camera.
The following link is where the introduction begins to a story that resonates within my mind daily. One day, I will get around to finishing this masterpiece, but probably have to be prodded in some way to get motivated again. Today, I am in the writing mood and after being encouraged by the article on Ansel Adams and a suggestion by a dear friend, I now understand more about the possibilities that exist in my chosen arts profession and how the power of words and the magnificent splendor of an image captured in time can live forever if preserved.
