#Education is one of the most crucial aspects of a child's #development, and it is essential to ensure that the right values and principles are instilled in them during their formative years.
Private schools in #India are often viewed as institutions that offer superior education and focus on inculcating moral qualities in their students. However, there have been instances where private schools have been found to engage in unethical practices, such as not following the education act, charging unauthorized fees, and threatening parents to cut their child's name from the school register if they do not pay up.
On one side, private schools claim to provide a superior education that includes the teaching of moral values, but on the other hand, they engage in activities that are contrary to the values they claim to impart. One of the most disturbing practices is charging unauthorized fees. The Education Act specifies the fees that can be charged by private schools, and any deviation from this is illegal.
However, many private schools continue to charge additional fees for various reasons, such as building funds, extra-curricular activities, and transportation fees, among others. Parents are often forced to pay these fees, even though they are not legally obligated to do so, as they fear that their child's education may suffer if they do not comply.
Another unethical practice that many private schools engage in is the threat of expulsion if parents do not pay these unauthorized fees. Threatening parents to cut their child's name from the school register is not only morally reprehensible, but it is also illegal. Education is a fundamental right, and no child should be denied this right because of their parents' inability to pay unauthorized fees.

Private schools are also required to follow the Education Act, which outlines the standards and regulations that all schools must adhere to. However, many private schools flout these rules and regulations, operating as if they are above the law. This not only undermines the quality of education that they offer, but it also sets a dangerous precedent for other schools to follow.
The issue of unauthorized fees charged by private schools has been a contentious one for a long time, and many parents have been vocal about their displeasure at being forced to pay these fees. Some parents have even gone to court to challenge the legality of these fees, and in some cases, the courts have ruled in their favor.
Private schools are responsible for upholding the values and principles they claim to teach their students. It is unacceptable for them to engage in unethical practices such as charging unauthorized fees, not following the Education Act, and threatening parents to cut their child's name from the school register.
We parents must be vigilant in ensuring that our children receive a quality education that is free from any malpractice or illegal activity. It is also the responsibility of the government to ensure that private schools are held accountable for any violations of the Education Act and that appropriate action is taken to safeguard the rights of parents and their children.
