Unemployed Job Seekers - Do You Prove That You Weren't An Under/Average Performer?

Unemployed Job Seekers - Do You Prove That You Weren't An Under/Average Performer?

Or do you make the mistake that most unemployed candidates make ... telling employers why it wasn't your fault?

You were probably doing a great job, but were either in the wrong place/time, or you were unlucky in the middle of a mass layoff.

But how does an employer know this??You could tell them, but why should an employer believe you?

Every candidate says this (including underperformers). Also, employers know that mass layoffs are also used to fast-track terminations of under and average performing employees.

This presents a risk to hiring managers hiring an?unemployed?candidate - Were you someone else's problem?

Even if you were an average performer, employer have many aualified candidates applying today ... so they don't want to hire average performers, when they can find higher performing new hires.

If you're?unemployed?and feel that employers are biased against you because you're in job transition, you likely aren't overcoming this employer risk in your?resume?and interviews.

But there's something you can do about this (even if you were an underperformer).

To overcome this risk, you need to prove to employers that you weren't an underperformer ... but that you were at least a good performer, even better if a top performer. This has nothing to do with your performance reviews, or whether your last boss liked you or hated you.

You'd already be doing this if you knew how, wouldn't you?

Good thing there are strategies to prove you weren't an underperformer that you can use in your resume and interviews, that will help you regardless of your past performance ratings. Even underperformers can utilize these strategies to prove success, while still telling the truth!

That means you won't have to lie, but truthfully prove your success.
