Understanding Root Causes: A Journey from Symptoms to Solutions

Understanding Root Causes: A Journey from Symptoms to Solutions

Symptoms are merely products of reactions or processes. They indeed aid in understanding reality, but delving deeper into the root cause or disease is imperative.

Have you ever experienced acidity in the throat or stomach? You're not alone; it's quite common nowadays. "Acidity is just a symptom. Your body is producing excessive protons due to some other cause. You need to thoroughly diagnose it," remarked my friend, a compassionate medical practitioner, during a casual conversation.

Immediately, my mind pondered whether he made sense or not. Yet, he was undeniably right. I discovered the root cause of hyperacidity: untimely eating, lack of exercise, indulgence in delicious but unhealthy junk food, and consumption of non-organic food made from inferior quality refined edible oil. It took years to comprehend the root cause and address it sustainably. Thus, began my journey towards an organic lifestyle. Researching refined oil, ghee, junk food, and numerous other unhealthy items revealed that transitioning to organic and healthy food was not as daunting once I conditioned my body to accept only nourishing options.

If you've ever worked with machines, you've likely encountered a fundamental truth: garbage in, garbage out. Just as feeding a machine with subpar materials results in malfunction, supplying our bodies with unhealthy sustenance leads to adverse effects. Our bodies, akin to machines, require nourishing and sustainable fuel (including clean air). Moreover, as elucidated in my prior articles, our minds differ from our bodies. What nourishes the mind? Good thoughts, healthy habits, and kindness towards all living beings. Embracing these practices yields positive outcomes.

Comparing modern medical science with the age-old sustainable science of Ayurveda reveals a stark difference. Often, modern medicine effectively treats symptoms but fails to address the root cause of diseases. Conversely, Ayurveda approaches all ailments from their origins. However, the reluctance to embrace Ayurveda stems from human greed. In today's era of economic growth, endeavors lacking economic potential receive scant attention. Curing ailments permanently with Ayurveda jeopardizes the profitability of medical insurance, pharmaceuticals, and hospitals. A legendary Ayurveda practitioner once asserted, "If you're profiting from selling medicines or charging exorbitant fees, you're engaged in business." Indeed, medicine and medical treatment ought to be selfless acts of service for all living beings.

Despite ridicule from some modern medical practitioners, a sincere study of Ayurveda garners appreciation for its science. I implore all responsible and open-minded individuals worldwide to embrace the authentic science of Ayurveda and sustainability.

Lastly, prioritize addressing root causes over merely treating symptoms—a fundamental principle of our world.
