Understanding the power of NOW

"Carpe Diem Quam Minimum Credula Postero"

 'Seize the day' ~ Horatio’s simple phrase that possibly holds a resounding meaning to it, is more or less a key to living life. Live in the ‘Now’ and give as much as little trust to tomorrow as that is in the future.

 However, nowadays, everyone is constantly tangled up in ensuring a better future for themselves and trying to set up a barrier that would bar the past that they wish to bury. Striving forever for those moments in life which is synonymous to a gamble. Placing all their energies into ensuring that they end up with a golden future, oblivious that it might also be laden with regret for not living in the present.

 Moreover, the generations are constantly in a battle. The elders tend to present their past as a golden era, the adults present their time as that which required round the clock hard work to attain salvation. The youngest? They're left dazed and confused. The end result being one of an apologetic persona geared up by the elders and adults. Apologetic for the difficulties being faced for a future that possibly does not exist. Apologetic for being able to reap everything at a time where it was more or less presented to them on a silver platter. Apologetic for not having to worry over a future.

 It's more of a necessity to live within the present, to enjoy the coming moments. Only through such a guise is it possible to get a future that is satisfactory and worth it. Unswerving getting embroiled by worrying over a past that has duly played its part, neglecting the ‘Now’ being lived and being tensed for a time yet to come only sets up more and more hurdles which possibly wouldn't exist with all the deliberating.

 The future is a time period that is better left off as the way it is, an unknown mystery. The past should be kept as a memory that is nostalgic but holds no worth except being an era that came and went. The present should be the time frame which should get all the energies and all the attention. Living in the moment, 'seizing the day' builds a solid backdrop to having a coming life with no regrets, no apologetic ruse.
