Understanding the "Pending Delivery" Status in Grandstream UCM Remote Connect
Description
When working with the UCM630X series, you may encounter a warning message labeled "Pending Delivery." in GDMS. It is important to understand what this means and how it affects your device management.
What Does "Pending Delivery" Mean?
The "Pending Delivery" status appears when you attempt to assign parameters or settings to an offline Grandstream IP PBX UCM 63XX series. In this state, the PBX is unable to receive the changes from GDMS because it is not currently connected to the network. As a result, the settings remain in a queue, waiting to be delivered once the UCM device is back online. This queuing process ensures that your configurations are not lost and can be applied as soon as the UCM reconnects.
Ensuring Successful Configuration Delivery
To avoid issues with the "Pending Delivery" status, it’s essential to ensure that TR069 is enabled on your UCM630X device. Go to UCM's UI > System Settings > check TR069. TR069 is a protocol that allows remote management and configuration of devices, which is important for the GDMS to function effectively.
Firewall Configuration
Additionally, users need to ensure that specific ports required for TR069 are open on their firewalls. This step is crucial, as it allows the GDMS server to detect whether the UCM is online or offline. If these ports are blocked, the GDMS will not be able to communicate with the device, resulting in persistent "Pending Delivery" statuses and potentially limiting your ability to manage the device effectively.
Troubleshooting
Navigate to UCM's UI > Remote Connect > My Plan > click Troubleshooting and run Remote Link Diagnosis. This approach verifies the communication status between your UCM630X device and the GDMS. This diagnostic tool is a valuable resource for troubleshooting any connectivity issues.
