Understanding our ADHD BRAINS is the key to realising our true potential at work.

Understanding our ADHD BRAINS is the key to realising our true potential at work. Any coaching qualification worth its salt should lead you down a path of self-discovery through the learnings I have discovered throughout my life, particularly my ADHD coach training.?

I now understand how my brain works in relation to the challenges I have faced over my 55 years of lived experience. These challenges have moulded me into who I am today. This learning has been crucial to understanding the practical and mental development areas I have gone through. I'm still learning; I do so daily to be the best version of myself.?Living with ADHD is bloody hard, and realising how our brains work is key to unlocking our true potential.

Understanding how my ADHD brain works was crucial in unlocking my true potential. By gaining insight into the unique strengths and challenges associated with my ADHD, I have now developed strategies and approaches that harness my strengths while managing the possible difficulties. It allows me to adapt to my environment, build effective routines, and explore techniques that best suit my needs. With this understanding, I can navigate my life in a way that maximises my abilities and helps me thrive.

Through this understanding of my ADHD brain, I can genuinely realise how to thrive at home and work.

Understanding how our ADHD brain works can significantly contribute to thriving in the workplace. I wanted to share a few strategies that may help you:

Capitalise on your strengths: ADHD brains often excel in creativity, problem-solving, and out-of-the-box thinking. Find ways to leverage these strengths in your work, such as taking on projects that require innovative solutions or brainstorming sessions.

Create structure and routine: Establishing a structured work environment can help manage ADHD-related challenges. Set up a consistent schedule, prioritise tasks, and break them down into smaller, manageable steps. Utilise calendars, reminders, or productivity apps to stay organised.

Minimise distractions: ADHD brains can be sensitive to distractions. Identify and reduce distractions in your work environment, such as noise, clutter, or interruptions. Consider noise-cancelling headphones or finding a quieter workspace.

Utilise tools and technology: Explore apps, software, or tools specifically designed to support individuals with ADHD. These can include task managers, time trackers, focus apps, or organisation tools that help plan and stay on track.

Seek support and communicate: Inform your colleagues or supervisor about your ADHD and share strategies that work for you. Collaboration and open communication can foster understanding and support, allowing others to assist when needed and creating a more conducive work environment.

Everyone's experience with ADHD is unique, so finding what works best for you is essential. Coaching individuals with ADHD is not a one size fits all approach; well, that's not my approach.

I ask permission to share my lived experience and the strategies that work for me. Such as a healthy sleep routine and working in blocks of time. I love the buzz a cold shower gives me and my routine of natural medication; I'm kinder to myself, and my relationship with myself is much healthier than in the past; these are my everyday strategies; however, what works for me, won't necessarily work for you.

I encourage my clients to experiment and discover different techniques, realise what and adapt to what is necessary for them.

If you are curious and want to understand your ADHD brain, I can help. Why not book a free discovery call on my website - www.all-about-change/adhd-coaching.
