Understanding NEMA beam spread
When dealing with lighting projects, customers always ask for NEMA7X6. What does it mean? Does it have something to do with the NEMA4X?
In this case, NEMA refers to a lighting distribution classification system developed by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association. You can call it "NEMA beam spread" to distinguish it from the "NEMA4X".
NEMA beam spread?is determined by two angles (horizontal and vertical) where the light intensity is 10% of the maximum beam intensity.
NEMA beam spread is presented as: the horizontal?beam spread (first number), followed by the vertical beam spread (second number).
Take NEMA7X6 as an example:
7 means the horizontal?beam spread, it is 130° and up
6 means the vertical beam spread, it is 100° to 130°
