Understanding the Entrepreneur Profile

Understanding the Entrepreneur Profile

I recently talked about the Entrepreneur Profile that FranNet uses to help people find the right business fits for them. People will ask, "What's this profile? What's it about?" You might be familiar with DISC or Myers-Briggs profiles which employers often use to help them find the right candidates. They want to ensure that your personality, skill sets, and everything else fit the job they're looking to fill. This is actually very similar to that.?

How Personality Shapes Your Franchise Success

We created this Entrepreneurial Profile over 40 years ago, and thousands of people have taken it since then. One of the things my clients usually come back to me and say is, "Wow, it tells me a lot of information I didn’t know about myself." It's almost 20 pages of information. One thing I think people don't realize when you're buying a franchise is how much personality comes into play.

I'll give you an example. I'm what's called an "emulator," and that might not be a term you're familiar with, but in my world, an emulator is someone who is outgoing, likes to get up and do a lot of public speaking, and is good at going to networking meetings and things like that. I'm really comfortable in that environment.?

Now, let's take someone else, like my wife. She's a "belonger." She's more comfortable with family and wants to be around employees. If I told my wife, "Hey, I need you to go up in front of this audience and do a presentation," she would be scared to death.?

So, what we learn in these personality profiles, like the one I'm talking about, is that personality becomes really, really important. But there's a lot more information in there than just that.

Leadership Style and Community Impact

The other thing to consider is, what's your leadership style? Are you someone who's more passive, or are you someone who's going to be in the business providing a lot of leadership? Are you looking for a business that gives back to the community or society in some way? Some people really want to make an impact, while others are like, "Yeah, I don't really care as long as the business makes money, that's important to me." So, one thing to realize is that a business that's a really good fit for me may be a horrible fit for you, and vice versa.?

Taking the Entrepreneur Profile

The entrepreneur profile I'm talking about takes about 20 or 30 minutes to complete. It asks you a lot of questions, and it will be really helpful for me to find the right business for you based on what this profile reveals. If you'd like a link to that profile, it's on a secure website. Just click on my QR code, and on that page, request the link to the profile. I'll send it to you, and as soon as I get the results back, we can talk more about it.
