Next up in my reflection series is one of the most fascinating courses from my Master's studies at Ca' Foscari University: Economics of Risk and Agent's Behaviour (EM1402).
- Analytical Skills: Gained hands-on experience with STATA for data analysis, which is such a powerful tool for diving deep into economic data.
- Understanding of Economic Decision-Making: Learned how individuals make choices under uncertainty, including the impact of cognitive biases and risk aversion on financial decisions.
- Teamwork & Project Management: Collaborated with amazing classmates, including Vladislav Nozdrin and Mikaela Valzano. Working together on a project was both challenging and rewarding!
- Expert Guidance: Our professor, Agar Brugiavini, is not only the coordinator of our Master's program but also a highly respected figure in the field. Her insights brought the subject to life!
- In-Depth Topics: We covered essential concepts like financial choices, the insurance principle, and personal finance strategies. It was fascinating to understand how these theories apply in the real world.
- Our Project: We tackled a project on how inflation and unemployment affect saving behavior over two periods. Using historical data from the U.S., we explored the complex relationship between economic indicators and personal savings.
Reflecting on this experience, I truly appreciate how this course combined theory with practical applications. It deepened my understanding of how economic factors influence decision-making. Plus, getting familiar with the Ca' Foscari library was a game-changer for my research skills!
Overall, this course was a highlight of my academic journey. I'm excited to apply these skills and insights in my future career in data analytics and economics.
