Consistency and Commitment: The Dynamic Duo of Success

Consistency and Commitment: The Dynamic Duo of Success

There are few things greater than a dynamic duo. That 1, 2 punch that can immediately create meaningful and permanent change. In nature it is "Thunder and Lightning". In basketball it was "Jordan and Pippen". At diners across the nation a "Cheeseburger and Fries" remain a patrons go to choice. However and more specifically, what about in your life? What is that dynamic duo for you? What is that left hook and uppercut that will change your circumstance and get things done for you? In my life it has been "Consistency and Commitment" or what I call "C&C". C&C are must haves for anyone looking to make a meaningful and permanent change in their lives.

Consistency and Commitment depend on each other so profoundly but never should be confused. Consistency is how often whereas Commitment denotes the passion or intensity. When you are attempting to achieve goals that will change your station in life then you must be consistent and committed. A lack of either one will leave you unfulfilled and unsatisfied with the progress you making. The saying, "Hustle beats talent if talent does not hustle" definitely fits the emphasis of Consistency and Commitment. Just cause you show up to be counted present in achieving a goal will not determine how effective you will be. And showing up sporadically and giving an all-out effort will not have the same impact as someone who shows up everyday and gives their best until their best gets better.

When applying C&C one must understand it is a marathon not a sprint. It is not realistic or natural that your intensity and frequency will remain at optimum levels throughout the journey. This is when your circle will be needed to assist. No great endeavor is ever accomplished alone. It is always completed through hard work and dedication, prayers, belief and a GOOD TEAM. Having a good team will help keep your consistency and even your commitment through accountability measures you have to implement. Change is difficult and the older you are the more complacent or reluctant to the pain that meaningful and permanent change will bring. And for those days where you question why you begin you will need to lean on your systems to keep why you started in mind so you maintain your own C&C on track.

Consistency and Commitment must be seen as inseparable for you to achieve the change you seek. We tell children directives at least seven times before we feel comfortable they understand in the manner we instructed. That repetition and the routine that results will bring inevitably bring change that will take your life to new heights and beyond limits you imagined before beginning.
