Mindset is an essential part of building a long-term business, and I'm not talking about your mindset.
I want to draw your attention to your customers' mindset.

The harsh reality is that you are what your customers say about you! Do you understand what your customers think about you and how they talk about you?
If you don't know, then it's time to check yourself!
Answer these questions:
- Are you a giver or taker?
- Do you service or sell?
Both of these questions will determine what your customers say about you!
For sure, strengthening long-term relationships start with the type of service you provide before the sale (being a giver), but perhaps most notably the impression (serving) after the sale.
Look, the point I'm trying to make is, it's much easier and less expensive to keep a customer than find a new one.
Here are some simple tips to achieve an excellent customer impression for a lifetime:
- Whatever you do, the sale must be a win-win for both of you.
- Think about how you can serve the client moving forward.
- Show ongoing appreciation with a thoughtful closing gift, yearly birthday cards, phone/text check-ups, etc.
- Send an email or postcard inviting your customers to respond, and share how you can improve your sales and service.
