Chronic Hives also referred to as Chronic Urticaria presents as welts that may occur due to itchy rashes. These are commonly triggered by an allergic reaction and can occur anywhere on the body.?
Despite what it looks like Hives are not contagious and one cannot be “infected” simply by touching a person with Chronic Hives. However, triggers such as viral or bacterial infections, the common cold or strep throat that does cause Hives can be contagious. Although Hives might be irritating and inconvenient, they are typically not severe and will go away after a while. Keep in mind that while some Hives disappear, other ones may develop soon after an episode.
