Understanding calories will change your perspective on fat loss

Let me explain…

Every single diet that has ever led to weight loss has done so because it ensures you eat fewer calories than you burn (a?caloric deficit). Atkins, Keto, Low carb, Carnivore, Intermittent fasting.... it doesn't matter...

All of these diets help to create the one thing that is necessary to lose bodyfat, a calorie deficit.

So yes, that does mean you could eat mars bars every day and lose weight?as long as you are in a caloric deficit. Do we recommend you to do this? I think that should be a pretty obvious NO way! But why..?

1. Your diet needs to satisfy your hunger cravings.?Eating a mars bar will leave you hungry even though you have eaten enough calories. A chocolate bar, or any food high in carbohydrate, fat, sugar, and salt is what we call, hyper-palatable and The result is that you end up eating too many calories and gaining weight.

2. It’s not all about the weight, yes you do want to lose fat but you also want to maintain muscle mass. Eating enough protein is very important for this. A diet based on how many mars bars you can fit in will not help you reach your optimal protein intake.

3. You will most likely not get enough micronutrients.?Whilst mars bars do taste great, they are low in vitamins and minerals which are essential for your long-term health. Even though calories will control your weight, a lack of vitamins/minerals can make you feel tired, weaken your immune system, nervous system, and give you a range of other diseases in the long run.

Calories matter.

Understanding how to count calories, and how it relates to you gaining or losing fat tissue may just be one of the most beneficial things you can do for your health.

Once you understand the principle, you can use whatever method you want!
