Understanding Asbestos: The Importance of?Asbestos Awareness Training
Asbestos awareness training has increased significantly over the past decade. This was due to the fact that most people exposed to asbestos did not know they were exposed or how to identify potential asbestos products.
Every day there are people falling ill from asbestos related diseases. Currently over 5000 people die from asbestos exposure each year.
As a result of the increasing death rates Asbestos Awareness was born. The need for those likely to come into contact with asbestos (not just those removing it) was identified and suitable training courses were created.
WHY IS ASBESTOS SUCH A HAZARD?
Asbestos was a very common material used right up until the ban date in 1999 and is often known as the "Hidden Killer". This is because many of us live, work and travel through properties containing asbestos every day without realizing it is there.
The problem is even more critical when people are physically disturbing or damaging the material and being exposed to larger levels of fibres.
