UNDERSTANDING AND APPLYING THE BASICS OF SA LABOUR LAW PROGRAMME IN THE WORKPLACE
Why the need for this:
All employers of people are expected to know how to apply and comply with the law.
Ignorance of the law is not a valid excuse for non-compliance and will not serve to protect organisations from facing legal action.
In organisations , employees responsible for staff matters and the business are required to know the dos and don’ts of labour law compliance and application but are often unaware or do not understand the law/changes and amendments in the law and/or experience a large amount of fear and confusion around what it means for them and/or generally do not know how they are meant to comply.
Due to these failures organisations, big and small, are drawn down a path of painful, time consuming and expensive internal mismanagement, loss of top talent and retention of problem employees, costly CCMA/Bargaining council and labour court appearances and ultimately having their business reputation tarnished and productivity severely affected
Further amendments of the law, new case law precedents, dealing with difficult employees, unions and union officials or commissioners at the CCMA and bargaining council add further stress and nuances to the issue of effective employee relations.
How I can help:
My name is Pumani Ayer. I have worked in the employee relations space for over 26 years, managing, coaching, consulting and teaching on the various elements of labour law as well as organizational and personal performance improvement. This together with my qualifications and working experience has enabled me to understand, apply the labour law tenets comfortably and easily and transfer this knowledge to organisations for application.
I offer learning interventions geared at simplifying the law and its application for my clients so that they can operate in this minefield in a more confident manner, are able to apply the law with more ease and are not caught in the web of confusing legalese.
Programmes are available for managers of people, union staff, leaders of the business and HR professionals to fully equip them with understanding and applying labour law in their workplace.
